The uneasiness and dread that arise although there seems to be nothing to fear is a weird feeling inherent in human nature. This is what my body of work is intended to express. We're so used to specific scenes and ways of life that when something disrupts our expectations we feel lost and uncomfortable. Something is wrong and you can tell instinctively without even thinking. What are your instincts telling you? Where does this feeling come from? And where did everybody go?

Audible social chatter, tweeting birds, laughing children, honking traffic, pouring rain: we are subconsciously guided by the sounds that surround us. My body of work expresses my experiences with hearing loss within the context of constantly advancing technology. The idiosyncratic juxtaposition of vivid hues and monochromatic images represents both my inner conflict and my resolve in confronting my adversity. Amalgamated into a singular immersive experience, the auditory and visual components of my work are intended to engage the postmodern audience in a soundcheck of my subdued world and encourage them to reflect on the significance of their own hearing.

My body of work recontextualises the Greek mythological story of Icarus, using it to create a science fiction art installation inspired by video games. The story of Icarus examines the idea of overreach in terms of Man playing God and the price he paid as a result. My graphic-based work engages with moral concerns about the human relationship with technology. It is also intended to explore the impending threat of our potentially dangerous dependence on artificial intelligence given our increasing reliance on it, and our blind optimism.

In Strata I represent the socioeconomic segregation of the modern world through the lens of a vertical city of the future. I constructed my body of work initially with 3D modelling then by digital painting. The work is broken into three separate vertical layers of stratified society and examines many concepts, such as intergenerational freedom, conformity, multiculturalism, ignorance, family. I worked on this large scale to express the size and scope of my ideas. My intent was to craft a level of detail that encouraged the audience to explore and contemplate the many messages within the work.
