My body of work investigates a creek system that I have been visiting regularly for the past six years. Each time I visit I feel its changing rhythms and patterns. These layered memories inspired me to represent experiences beyond the physical: the joy taken in actively observing and exploring nature over time. My work integrates a mixed selection of techniques, including printmaking from collected plant specimens that surround this area, detailed pencil drawings, and layered acrylic paint and ink. My intention is for the audience to become immersed in both the details and unity of this special landscape.

My body of work investigates my internal struggles, using the technique of stippling for its ability to bring me peace of mind and an escape from reality. This therapeutic representation of the thoughts and emotions that engulf me released my repressed conflicted feelings and let me 'breathe'. The motif of paper bags conveys how the work is my personal outlet, cleansing away my inner turmoil. My intention is to empower the audience to find their own 'paper bags' that help them overcome, push onwards, and to let them know that they are not alone in this world.

Only when memory and cultural lineage intertwine can the scars of survival from famine and war in Maoist China ripple across generations, forging a love at once unyielding and redemptive. I studied the Chinese idiom 'Qing Chu Yu Lan' ('the colour blue is derived from indigo yet is brighter than indigo') to honour my grandparents. They were the 'indigo' whose sacrifices were the start of our family's upward mobility. The humble ballpoint pen conveys their modesty. Within the vivid, blue chiaroscuro, I represent their unwavering love as an anchor that grounds me in the 'vivid blue' of my family's development.

My body of work connects me to my identity as a Samoan, Lebanese and Australian girl. The work contains a range of erratic and unpredictable brush strokes, using acrylic paints, boar bristle paint brushes, pallet knife and impasto. I incorporate the deliberate use of the body, including hands and palms, with the intention of representing my emotional state or energy at the moment of creation.

My body of work examines the fragility and beauty of nature. Using natural materials, layered textures and abstracted landscape forms I represent how delicate the environment is. Inspired by Australian artists, I document my process with the intention of encouraging audiences to understand my ideas and to connect with the changing natural world.

Red Light, Green Light represents the pace of modern life, where events collide in constant motion. With its pop-culture reference to Squid Game, my body of work conveys how a symbol of tension and urgency can be transformed into a call for pause, presence and reflection amid relentless change. My intention was to examine the uneasy rhythm of a world that never stops. The flicker that I saw between stillness and movement became both question and mirror, and my work an illustration of how we rush through moments meant to be felt.

My body of work analyses how women disguise their identities, wearing masks to navigate their world and performing in social interactions. These responses arise due to demands to fit in, control their behaviour and hide their genuine feelings. I have used delicate lines to represent vulnerability and individuality, and bold prints for conformity and external pressure. My intention in my work is to challenge the authenticity of behaviours shaped by gender roles and to communicate how external factors influence identity formation. I encourage audiences to think about the complex balance between self-expression and societal acceptance.

My body of work investigates the complex nature of gender dynamics. My intention in using colourful confectionery to disrupt highly idealised male and female sculptural forms (Alexander the Great and Bernini's Costanza) was to dismantle the binary construction of gender. I sculpted each dessert piece by hand, including individually rolled out sprinkles, and textured and glazed with varnishes and paint to achieve finishes that convey the rough surfaces of biscuits or icing on doughnuts. I attached the desserts to the busts with Liquid Nails adhesive and piped modelling paste around the seams to represent frosting.

My body of work analyses the paradox of strength and fragility within the female experience. My biomorphic ceramic sculptures represent femininity as a powerful symbol of both fortitude and vulnerability. Using hand-building techniques, I reference forms of female anatomy to convey emotional resilience and endurance in the face of societal conventions. The textured surface created by magma glaze illustrates the diverse nature of the collective female experience as well as the charm of imperfection. My intention was to challenge traditional ideals of beauty and highlight the silent strength implicit in femininity.

Looking through the lens of reality, the imagination seems to be merely a fleeting escape. My body of work investigates the appeal of escapism - often called unproductive and childish. What leads someone to want to detach from their life? Is it just a distraction from life's stresses, or a concerning departure from reality? I chose the medium of animation for its versatility. Contrasting the sharpness of reality with imagination's fluidity I represent the indulgent nature of the daydream, inviting the audience to immerse themselves in flight, to forget the character's mundane life - until they are forced to return to it.

This is the Dead Land is my response to the horrors of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. Inspired by my observations of our ignorance and negligence of the real human suffering that is the consequence of war, my body of work represents the extent of the damage that war inflicts on the body, on the psyche, and on the environment. My intention in combining the familiarity of found objects with the expressiveness of abstract painting was for the audience to have a deep, visceral and emotional response. There is one constant of conflict: war is hell.
